EAPs are designed to assist with mental health issues affecting employment.

EAPs are work-based programs designed to assist employee-clients in identifying and resolving personal concerns including, but not limited to, substance use, legal, marital, family, financial, emotional, stress, health, or other personal issues that may affect job performance.

EAPs provide confidential assessments, short-term counseling, and referrals to outpatient services when appropriate. EAPs may also provide an intermediary consultant role between supervisors and managers and help with any challenges that employees face within the organization including workplace trauma or other emergency response situations.
