Treatment can be complicated and understanding the different levels of care requires knowledge of the mental health system.

The decision to seek mental health treatment can be both frightening and challenging, regardless of whether it is a personal choice or mandated by an employer or the legal system. The first step is a thorough evaluation of an individual’s safety as well as a biopsychosocial assessment. After the assessment, a clinician may recommend a level of treatment that addresses the client’s individual needs in order to help them return to their normal level of functioning (National Alliance on Mental Illness, 2019).

Check out the many levels of care under the TREATMENT section of TherapyShow.com.

Level of Care

On the Therapy Show's Guide to Mental Health Treatments, you will notice that Treatments are listed in order from lowest level of care to the highest level of care. My goal is for you to have all of this information in one place, so that you can access it quickly.

TherapyShow.com is focused on helping non-professionals understand and navigate the mental health

system and is dedicated to my sister Sheila and countless others who lost their battle with mental illness.
